Wetherby Bowling Club Motif

 Thinking of trying bowls?

Wetherby Bowling Club is unique on the Yorkshire side of the Pennines with both a lawn (flat) green and a crown green side-by-side.  Not sure of the difference?  Lawn bowls - played in lanes or rinks as demonstrated at the Commonwealth Games; whereas crown green is played over the whole green - and is exclusive to the north of England, the north Midlands, and north Wales.  Our crown green is equipped with floodlights so that evening matches can be played into the autumn - and the club hosts an annual Autumn Mini-League which attracts players from across the district.

Wetherby Bowling Club offers social bowling for people who just want a relaxing game, but also participates in various local leagues within Yorkshire - you decide the level at which you want to play.  Our greens are normally open from the beginning of April until the end of November.

Wetherby Bowling Club can be found at Grange Park, Wetherby, LS22 5NB, on the border between North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.  It is signposted off A168 just south of Wetherby, with easy access from Harrogate, Leeds or York (and from further afield via A1M J45).

Members of Wetherby Bowling Club recently featured in Bowls England's latest national campaign 'All to play for' - click https://www.bowlsengland.com/all-to-play-for/ to watch the video.  Other club news can be found on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/wetherbybowling.
